About TOORLY

What is TOORLY?

TOORLY is a groundbreaking new way for fans to get involved in where their favorite artists go on tour and to influence bookings, and make it possible for artists and anyone involved in hosting events to take fan feedback into consideration when planning tours, or shows in general.

Who is TOORLY for?

For fans, TOORLY is a way to team up and take initiative to bring artists to their city by proving local demand. For artists, it’s an opportunity to quantify real-time fan demand around the world, and tour in places where fans want to see them live. And for anyone involved in hosting events, it’s an opportunity to gauge demand for an artist or a show, and make informed booking decisions.

Fan FAQs

What can I do on TOORLY?

You can follow artists you want to see live, as well as follow promoters, event brands, venues, fan accounts and media brands you like. If you want to bring an artist to your city for a show, you can create a Fan Request, and get other fans to participate in your Request to show local demand. You can also participate in Requests set up by Pages (artists, promoters, event brands, venues, fan accounts and media brands.

What’s the difference between a Profile and a Page?

Profiles are regular users, and Pages are professional profiles. Currently only artists, promoters, event brands, venues, fan accounts and media brands can have Pages. Profiles can follow Pages and other Profiles. Pages can’t follow anyone.

What happens when I follow a Profile or a Page?

You can follow your friends and other people whose live music tastes you like, and get notified whenever they follow a Page (artists, promoters, event brands, fan accounts, venues and media brands), and whenever they create or participate in a Request. You won’t get notified when someone follows a Profile.

How do Fan Requests work?

That’s the heart and soul of TOORLY! When you want to see an artist live in your city, you can create what’s called a “Fan Request” and mobilize other fans in your city to join your Fan Request, for a chance to make the show happen! As the Request Creator, you're driving the promo for your Request, and you can invite Fan Accounts and Media Brands to support you. Please note that you'd need to get the Fan Accounts and Media Brands to create their own Page on TOORLY, so you can invite them to your Fan Request.

How do I create a Fan Request?

Click the “Create” button on your profile or in the top navigation, select the artist you want to see, the city you want to see them in, and add a little note that would get other fans excited about the prospect of seeing that artist. You can also invite Fan Accounts and Media Brands on TOORLY to support your Request. After you've published your Request, you can still invite Fan Accounts and Media Brands to support you.

Why should I invite Fan Accounts and/or Media Brands to support my Request?

When you create your Request, you can invite Fan Accounts to support. When Fan Accounts accept your invite, your Request will be shared with all their followers, increasing the reach of your Request to more fans. As a community of fans around the world, TOORLY lets you come together to make more shows happen!

How do I invite Fan Accounts to support my Request?

You can add Fan Accounts and/or Media Brands to your Fan Request as Partners when you create it, or you can add them later. Once you invite a Partner to your Request, they will get notified about the invite, and they have a choice to either accept or ignore it. When a Partner doesn’t respond to your invite, you can remove them and add another Partner - but give them a moment to respond! Once they’ve accepted, you can connect and collaborate on promotion of your Fan Request. You can invite up to five Partners to support your Fan Request. After accepting, you can’t remove the Partner anymore, so choose wisely.

Which Partners shall I invite to my Request?

Think about fan accounts you already follow on other social platforms, and see if they have a Page on TOORLY by typing their name in the search bar. If they do, you can invite them as you’re setting up your Fan Request. If they don’t, you could create your Fan Request first and then reach out to them on socials, and encourage them to create a Page on TOORLY, so they can get invited. For Media Brands, consider which blogs or social media publications would be up for supporting your Request and invite them.

What happens when I publish a Fan Request?

When you publish your Request, three things happen: all your followers get notified, the Artist Page gets notified, and all fans of the artist in the city of your Request will be notified, giving them a chance to participate in your Request to make the show happen. The more fans join a Fan Request, the higher the chances that the artist will consider coming to your city for a show, or include the city in their next tour.

How many Fan Requests can I create and participate in?

You can create only one Fan Request per artist, so pick your city wisely! Do keep in mind though that as the Request Creator, you’re encouraged to spread the word after publishing it, to get others on board and increase your chances of making your Request succeed! Create Fan Requests for artists you most want to see live and champion those by teaming up with other fans!

What’s a Page Request?

Page Requests can be set up by Pages (such as Artists, Promoters, Event Brands, Venues, Fan Accounts or Media Brands). Page Requests are about finding out whether fans want an event to take place, and it can also be about getting your feedback on which artists you’d like to see.

What if my city isn’t part of a Page Request?

For any Page Request that includes multiple cities (meaning it’s for a tour or event series), if you don’t see your city listed, you can request it to be added. If enough people request the same city, the Request Creator can consider adding the city to the Request and if that happens, you’ll be notified!

Artist FAQs

What can I do on TOORLY?

On TOORLY, fans follow artists they want to see live. Fans also follow promoters, event brands, venues, fan accounts and media brands they like. If you’re planning a tour and want to know how much demand you have in any given city, you can run a Request and get real-time feedback from fans on where they want to see you live. You can also include artists you’re considering for tour support and let your fans give you feedback on which artists they’d like to see performing with you.

What’s the difference between a Profile and a Page?

Profiles are regular users, and Pages are professional profiles. You need a Profile to be able to claim a Page. Currently only artists, promoters, event brands, venues, fan accounts and media brands can have Pages. Profiles can follow Pages and other Profiles. Pages can’t follow anyone.

What’s a Request?

There are two types of Requests - Fan Requests and Page Requests. Fan Requests are created by fans, who can request an artist to a certain city and get other fans involved to show local demand. Page Requests are created by Pages (artists, promoters, event brands, venues, fan accounts and media brands).

You can either set up your own Page Request (making you a “Request Creator”), or you can be included in another Page’s Request (e.g. as tour support).

How can I use Requests?

Whether you’re planning your next tour, or want to add a few dates to an existing routing, TOORLY gives you the chance to find out where fans want to see you live. A Request is essentially a "Pre-Save" for a tour. You can set up a Request and include all the cities you consider touring in, and share the Request with your fans on socials. You can also include artists in your Request that you’re considering for tour support or even for a co-headlining tour, and let your fans give you feedback on who they’d like to see perform alongside you.

What analytics do I get on TOORLY?

There are two types of analytics - Fan Analytics and Request Analytics. Fan Analytics show you where all the fans who follow you on TOORLY are located - by city, country and region, along with other demographic data. You can even see who and what your fans around the world like - other artists, as well as event brands, promoters and venues. Request Analytics show you specific feedback for a Request you’re running, or a Request someone else set up that you’re included in.

How do I set up a Request?

Click on the “Create” button on your Page or in the top navigation. You can publish your Request immediately or schedule it for later. You can only run one Request at a time, but you can run as many Requests as you like. Invite your team to your Page, so you can collaborate on setting up Requests. Admins and Editors are able to edit Requests, Viewers can see the Request you’re setting up, and only Admins can publish a Request. Please note that you need to be verified for Requests before you can launch your own. Just reach out for a demo, and we'll get you set up, it's quick and easy.

How long should I run a Request for?

We suggest running a Request for around two weeks. TOORLY is a chance for your most active fans to give you feedback. When you promote your Request on socials, your most active fans will catch on right away, and you can expect to get a high percentage of your active fans to engage within two weeks. If you feel you need more time, you can run your Request for longer.

What Request data will fans be able to see?

Fans can see how many people participated in your Request overall, and they’re able to see how many people are requesting a certain city (for a multi-city Request). If you put forward artists for fans to select, fans will not be able to see how many fans selected which artist - only team members with access to your Analytics will be able to see that. So feel free to add artists to your Request but don’t feel obliged to use the data.

Why would I include other artists in my Request?

For example, if you’re trying to get your fans’ feedback on who to take along for tour support, or to establish if a co-headlining tour with another artist makes sense. In your Request Analytics, you can see how many of the fans that requested a certain city, country or region want to see the other artist(s) you put forward for request.

How do I add artists to my Request?

When you set up your Request, you can add artists in the section called “Lineup”. You can classify an artist as either a Co-Headliner or a Supporting Act. Neither fans nor the artists you're adding will see how you classify them in your Request, that’s only for your own reference, and only your team will be able to see.

When will an artist get notified that I added them to my Request?

Artists will not know that you’ve added them until your Request goes live, so take your time to think about who to add while setting up your Request. Only once your Request gets published (i.e. goes live), invites to artists will be sent. Even while your Request is scheduled, no invites are being sent. You will be able to edit your Request before it goes live (add or remove artists), but you won’t be able to change artists after your Request has gone live.

What happens when I invite an artist to my Request, and what happens when they accept?

Once your Request goes live, any artist you included in your Request will receive an invite in their Approvals & Invites Dashboard. They have the option to accept or ignore your invite. Fans won’t see whether an artist has accepted or ignored your invite. When an artist accepts your invite, it triggers a notification to their fans, which increases the reach of your Request.

Why should I invite Partners to my Request?

You can invite any Page on TOORLY as a Partner to your Request. When they accept, your Request gets shared with all their followers, which increases the reach of your Request. As an artist, definitely consider adding your fan accounts as Partners. Fan accounts would do anything to support their favorite artists, which is why TOORLY allows you to invite fan accounts to your Request, so they can help promote it. If you have a relationship with your fan accounts on other social platforms already, suggest creating a Page on TOORLY, so you can invite them to your Request. If you don’t have relationships with your fan accounts yet, it's time to reach out and build a relationship with them!

What happens when Partners accept the invite to my Request?

When your Request goes live, Partners will receive your invite to the Request. When they accept, it triggers a notification to their followers on TOORLY that they’re supporting your Request. You can collaborate on promoting the Request outside of TOORLY too, such as sharing the Request flyers with their community for the entire duration of the Request.

How do I benefit from fans creating Fan Requests for me?

Having fans create Fan Requests for you is an opportunity to expand your fanbase - every person who participates in the Fan Request automatically becomes your follower if they were not following you already. Considering how TOORLY’s feed works, whenever a fan participates in a Fan Request, all their followers get notified, giving an incredible organic reach for any Fan Request across TOORLY. You can also use Fan Requests as a way to prepare for your own Request. If you set up a Request that includes a city you have a Fan Request for, all the fans who requested you for that city will automatically be counted towards your own Request, giving you a major headstart.

Why is it beneficial for me to get included in other Page Requests?

Getting added to a Page Request, whether that’s another Artist’s Request, or that of a Promoter, Event Brand, Venue or Media Brand, creates booking opportunities for you. It also gives you the chance to build your following on TOORLY by getting exposed to more potential fans. When a Page includes you in their Request, it’s to figure out local demand for you.

When should I accept an invite to a Request?

Accept an invite when you want to make the Tour/Event happen that you got invited to. Accepting an invite triggers a notification to your fans that you’re included in the Request, but it does not constitute a “booking”, nor any kind of commitment on the side of the Request Creator or artist. TOORLY is a way to gauge demand, and you accepting the invite increases your chances of fans requesting you.

Can Fans see whether I’ve accepted an invite to a Request or not?

No, fans will not be able to see whether any artist included in a Request has accepted the invite, they only see all artists that are up for request, and they know that artists included in a Request are not “confirmed” - a Request is simply to gauge interest and quantify demand.

What happens after I’ve accepted an invite to a Request?

For a Page Request that includes artists, fans select those they want to see live, and only the Request Creator (the Page that created the Request) can see how many times each artist was selected in their Request Analytics. Accepting an invite increases your chances of making the booking happen because the Request will then be shared with your fans. Also, as soon as you accept an invite to a Request, you’ll have access to the Analytics of said Request.

Fan Analytics show you where your audience that follows you on TOORLY are located - by city, country and region, along with other demographic data. You can also see who and what your followers like - artists, as well as event brands, promoters and venues. Request Analytics show you specific feedback on a Request you’re running.

TOORLY is a chance for your most active followers to give you feedback. When you promote your Request on socials, your most active followers will catch on right away, and you can expect to get a high percentage of your active followers to engage within two weeks.

Why would I include artists in my Request?

For example, if you’re trying to get your audience’s feedback on who to book. In your Request Analytics, you can see how many of the fans that requested want to see a certain artist you put up for request. No one other than those who have access to your Analytics can see that data, fans cannot see it.

How do I add artists to my Request?

When you set up your Request, you can add artists in the section called “Lineup”. You can classify an artist as either a Headliner or a Supporting Act.

What happens when a Partner accepts the invite to my Request?

When your Request goes live, Partners will receive your invite to the Request. When they accept, it triggers a notification to their followers on TOORLY that they’re supporting your Request. You can collaborate on promoting the Request outside of TOORLY too, such as sharing the Request flyers with their community for the entire duration of the Request.

When should I accept an invite to a Request?

Accept an invite when you can commit yourself to supporting the Request with spreading the word to your community. Fans and Pages can only invite up to five Partners to support their Request, so don’t accept an invite if you can’t commit to doing your part.

What happens after I’ve accepted an invite to a Request?

Fans and artists can invite Media Brands to their Requests. When you get invited, you will get a notification and you can accept or ignore the invite in your Approvals & Invites dashboard. When you accept an invite to a Request, all your followers on TOORLY will get notified that you’re now supporting this Request. You are also expected to promote the Request on socials, and support whichever way you can to maximize the reach of the Request. Your Media Brand will also be mentioned on the Request page for all fans to see that you’re supporting a Request, and fans that are participating have the opportunity to follow your Page.

What’s the benefit of supporting a Request?

Your Media Brand will be mentioned as a Partner to a Request on the Request Page, which gives your Media Brand visibility. Requestors are encouraged to follow Partners of a Request, which helps you build your following on TOORLY. You can also negotiate other benefits with Request Creators directly, outside the platform, such as exclusive event coverage, access to interviews, etc.
